How does storage work?

Storage is included and pooled at the customer tenant level: Microsoft 365 : unlimited backup and archiving storage Servers : 3 TB per server VMs : 2 TB per VM Desktops/laptops : 300 GB per device This pool can be shared flexibly across workloads in the same tenant.

What happens if storage is exceeded?

M365 : no overages (storage is unlimited). Servers, VMs, laptops/desktops/workstations : if backup usage exceeds the pool, overages are billed automatically. All workloads : DR (hot) storage is included and not billed separately. Orphaned backup data is billed as standard storage.

What backup features are included by package?

M365 Backup + DR : daily backups and email archiving. M365 Ultimate : adds advanced backup (up to 6x per day) and collaboration security for OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
