CA Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage
management software, announced that the Cowan Insurance Group
(Cowan) of Waterloo, Ont., Canada, has standardized on Acronis True
Image Server 8.0 for Windows and Server 8.0
for Linux, the latest version of Acronis' award-winning disk
imaging, disaster
recovery and bare-metal backup and restore utility.
The software allows for real-time image
creation, which not only reduces creation time, it also drastically
reduces server restoration in a disaster recovery situation. This
provides a larger window for recovery procedures and gets employees
up and running in hours not days.
"Cowan required a backup and disaster recovery
approach that would have no performance impact to our production
systems," explained David Thomson, VP Information Technology, Cowan
Insurance Group. "Any backup operation that affected the system
performance would have adversely affected our ability to assist

Cowan began the rollout of Acronis True Image
Server in August.
