Acronis has been recognized in the top 20 of the world’s most attractive cloud providers

Singapore, July 2nd 2015. Acronis, a global leader in new generation data protection, today announced it has been recognized in the top 20 of the world's most attractive cloud providers. The CRN Cloud 100 rating included Acronis in The 20 Coolest Cloud Storage Vendors segment. CRN acknowledged the company's cloud storage products and introduction of new capabilities in 2014, such as high-speed provisioning and high-speed search of NAS environments. The acquisitions of nScaled for disaster-recovery-as-a-service and BackupAgent for service provider solutions were also noted as a factor in increasing the company's cloud capitalization. According to Serg Bell, founder and CEO of Acronis, data storage is the most promising development on the cloud market today. "This market segment grows at a speed of 33 percent per year worldwide and is expected to reach $57 billion by 2019, according to experts. Since the cloud technology is the main development direction for Acronis, it is only natural for us not to hold back when fighting for a share in this vast market," Serg Bell said. But despite ever increasing cloud storage adoption, local storage devices still lead the way in protecting critically important data, CRN noted. However, more everyday users and business consumers choose cloud services for disaster recovery, archiving and other scenarios, where high-speed access to stored data is not critical. A recent study conducted by Acronis together with industry analysts demonstrated that many clients are ready to adopt the cloud for data security and storage. From those surveyed, 70 percent acknowledged their lack of resources for disaster recovery, and nearly a half of the respondents (46 percent) said they are ready to start protecting their infrastructure with the help of a cloud. The main trigger for moving user data to the cloud is the ever-growing volume, which becomes less and less feasible to keep on local computers and servers. "It is important to note that Acronis storage services not only include storage space, but also data backup and restoration functionality for the event of a system failure. This way we offer a complete solution to our clients, allowing them to solve main data management tasks in one place," Serg Bell said. _______________________ CRN is a trusted authority for IT growth and innovation. The annual Cloud 100 rating recognizes some of the most innovative cloud service providers in the five categories: infrastructure, platforms and development, security, storage and software.
