Case Study. PURPLECLAY CONSULTING ACHIEVED COST-EFFECTIVE BACKUP AND PROTECTION OF CRITICAL DATA

Singapore, June 1st 2016 - Acronis®, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection, announced today that PurpleClay Consulting has selected Acronis Backup Cloud for the protection of critical data and backup of all servers and workstations within the company, deployed and supported by Acronis' international partner ICONZ-Webvisions (iWV).

iWV will manage the company's backup procedures, ensuring that all data protection tasks are performed on time and without error. A powerful, easy-to-use administrative console will enable iWV to perform all backup and recovery tasks remotely, even when the backed up data is stored locally within the company on external hard drives or network shared folders.

PurpleClay, a consultancy firm specializing in franchising, branding, customer centric initiatives based in Singapore, selected iWV Acronis-powered Backup-as-a-Service solution because of its cost efficiency, flexibility and versatility.

"Our partnership with iWV eliminates the need to employ our own network engineers. I don't even remember all the passwords. So it is good to know that if there is any issue with the backup, I will be notified or I can make a call to get it resolved," said Gary Loh, Director of PurpleClay.

As a consultancy company, a significant portion of PurpleClay's assets consists of intellectual property such as market reports, manuals, franchising agreements, branding strategies, and collaterals. PurpleClay also captures data through customer surveys, client interviews, prepares business plans and grant applications. Safeguarding this data and ensuring that it is properly backed up is one of the key priorities.

"Data is the life blood of many companies and we understand how painful it is for our customers to lose important data. That is why as a Managed Services Provider, we go through a very painstaking process to choose the best solution and offer it to our customers," said Albert Wong, Group CEO, iWV.

Acronis Backup Cloud, delivered as a managed service by iWV, meets PurpleClay's requirements. Powered by the AnyData Engine, Acronis Backup Cloud is designed to backup, protect, and restore data from any physical or virtual environment, including Windows and Mac computers, servers, and mobile devices. It provides automatic backup of all devices and a single-window interface, which allows the user to browse, view, and restore files from the cloud, even onto dissimilar hardware.

Acronis Backup Cloud is compatible with Windows and Linux servers, desktops, virtual environments, and application databases. Acronis backup files can be stored locally or in the cloud, and can be used for disaster recovery or server migration between different environments.

"We work closely with our partners and provide them with the most powerful and efficient data protection technology they can offer their customers. Data protection and data availability is very important for companies like PurpleClay, and Acronis is committed to providing the technology they can trust," said Steve Goh, Acronis' Vice President and GM of Sales for APAC and Emerging Markets.
