After you have designated the files for sending, you are ready to transfer them.
Manual Transfer on the MassTransit Server
Note: Manual transfer is available on MassTransit HP servers only.
To transmit the files manually to a Server contact, follow the steps bellow:
Open the Contacts window by clicking on the Contacts button from the Navigation Bar or by selecting the Contacts option from the Window main menu.
In your Contacts window, select the name of the other Server and click on the Connect button. When you are connecting for a first time to the Server, you may need to type a password if the other server requires one.
Note: Before calling another Server for a first time, make sure that the contact running the software has chosen to receive calls from unknown Servers and ask if a password is required.
When the connection is made, the calling Server is automatically added to the receiving Server's Contacts window.
You can observe the file transmission in the Status window and see summary information about the connection status and the transmitted files in the Log window.
Manual Transfer by Web Client and Ad hoc Contacts
You can find detailed information about using the Web client and Ad hoc contacts in the Web Client User Guide.
Manual Transfer by Client Contacts
If you are a Client contact of a MassTransit server, you need to have an SFTP or FTP Client software application to connect to the server. Load that application and login to the server using your login credentials.
After login, your mailbox folder will be displayed with the following sub folders (these are the default folder names):
Pick_Up – this is the location where all files for pick up are stored; open the folder and copy the files to your local machine or a remote drive.
Drop_Off – in this folder you can drop off all files that you want to send to the server; open it and place the files you want;
Already_Picked_Up – this folder is used to store all picked up files from the Pick_Up folder; after being picked up, all files are automatically moved into this folder.
Note: The names of the mailbox folders can be changed on the MassTransit Server. For information how to change the names on the server, see the SFTP/FTP Client View of Mailbox Names section of the Mailboxes page.
Triggers for Automatic Calls
Note: The triggers are available in MassTransit HP only.
MassTransit allows you to configure trigger conditions for placing automatic calls to a particular contact. The automatic calls can be triggered at a set period of time or number of files to send.
The triggers can be configured only for Server contacts. The steps below show how to set triggers:
Open the Contacts window by clicking on the Contacts button from the Navigation Bar or by selecting the Contacts option from the Window main menu.
In the Contacts window, click on the Add Contact... button to add a new contact or highlight an existing Server contact and click on the Edit... button.
In the Contact Information window that appears, open the Outgoing Calls tab. The triggers for automatic calls can be configured in the Automatically Place Calls area of the tab:
When number of files to send is at least __ – selecting this option places a call to the Server contact every time the specified number of files to send is reached.
Every __ Day(s)/ Minute(s)/ Hour(s) – this option allows you to set a period for placing an automatic call to the Server contact.
Every day at __ AM/PM – places an automatic call daily at the specified time.
After errors, retry in __ minute(s) and retry __ time(s) before giving up. – in case an error appears and the automatic call cannot be placed when the trigger condition is complete, you can configure the server to retry calling after the specified period. In addition, you can set the number of times the server would retry placing the call.
