Generic Clients Contact

Note: Generic Clients Contact is available in MassTransit HP only.

MassTransit HP has a Generic Clients contact that is created by default. You can use this client to allow anonymous FTP/SFTP access to your server.

To do that, follow the steps below:

1. Highlight the Generic Clients contact in your Contacts window and click on the Edit... button to edit it.
2. When the "Contact Information" appears, open the Security tab in it.
3. Under the "SFTP/FTP Privileges" area, select one of the following options:

   

   • Access User's Entire Mailbox – allows the users to access their entire mailbox.
   • Access Received Folder Only– allows the user to access the Received folder only from his mailbox.

   Note:This option is enabled for MassTransit SFTP Clients only.

4. Click on the OK button in the Contact Information window to save the changes.

Now, anonymous FTP and SFTP users can connect to your MassTransit Server with no password. They should use only the "anonymous" username to log in the server.

Warning: Anonymous access to your server is not recommended. It is recommended that an individual contact is created for each user who will be accessing the server.
