MassTransit Engine

MassTransit is a program that runs as a service on your computer. When you install it, two services will be added automatically to your Services Control Panel – MassTransit Engine and MassTransit Transporter.

The MassTransit Engine is a service that controls almost all of the MassTransit features. If it is not running, you will not be able to perform any file transfers or administer your server from the MassTransit Administrator application.

Note: Find out more about MassTransit Administrator application on the MassTransit Administrator page.

The MassTransit Transporter service provides SFTP support and must be started in order to transfer files over SFTP.

See detailed steps on how to start the MassTransit services in the Launching the MassTransit Engine and MassTransit Transporter Services section below.

MassTransit allows you to configure network access for its services. If you set the services to have network access, you will be able to configure and use user mailboxes on remote locations. In the Configure Network Access for the MassTransit Services section of this page, you can find detailed steps on how to do that.
