New Acronis Access Advanced Integration with Microsoft Intune Supports Microsoft Strategy to Manage Mobile Productivity without Compromising IT Security
Burlington, MA — November 17, 2015 – Acronis, a global leader in new generation data protection, today announced integration between Acronis Access Advanced and the Microsoft Intune Enterprise Mobility Management suite. As a result of the integration, IT administrators can easily manage the deployment of Acronis Access Advanced and apply management policies for data protection on mobile devices using the new Mobile Application Management (MAM) features of Microsoft Intune.
Acronis Access Advanced is a leading enterprise file access, sync and share solution, providing IT professionals with complete control over business content to ensure security, maintain compliance, and enable BYOD for employees. End users can easily and securely access corporate file servers, file sharing sites and content management systems found in on-premises or cloud environments, and also share content with other employees, customers, partners and vendors.
Microsoft Intune provides cloud-based mobile device management, mobile application management, and PC management capabilities. Using Intune, organizations can provide their employees with access to corporate applications, data, and resources from virtually anywhere, while helping to keep company information secure. In addition to supporting Microsoft apps, some of the world's leading companies are now delivering applications with support for mobile application management via Microsoft Intune, including Acronis for protecting data on mobile devices.
With the integration of Acronis Access Advanced and Microsoft Intune, enterprises can more easily manage the deployment of the Acronis Access Advanced mobile file sync and share application and apply management policies. The integration will also boost user productivity, enabling secure interaction with Microsoft Office mobile and other managed apps, while preventing unauthorized access and data leakage. Policies can be added to restrict operations, such as copy and paste within managed applications.
“People are mobile, devices are increasingly personal, and apps are moving to the cloud. This continues to have a profound, and far-reaching impact on how people work and how companies think about security. The Microsoft Intune and Acronis Access Advanced integration provides mobile users with secure file access and sharing using on premise file shares and SharePoint repositories, while offering IT the most comprehensive security, granular policy controls, and visibility to manage users, devices, apps, and data. We are excited to have Acronis Access Advanced as part of the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite ecosystem,” said Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Client & Mobility at Microsoft.
“Security continues to be top of mind for enterprises and protecting company resources, intellectual property and customer information on mobile devices, while ensuring appropriate access and collaboration is essential, especially for mobile workers,” said John Zanni, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Channel and Cloud Strategy, Acronis. “In the past year we have seen significant growth in customer demand for integrating Acronis Access Advanced with the Microsoft mobility solutions. We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with Microsoft with our support for Intune.”
