For many Managed Service Providers (MSPs), IT Glue is the operational system of record. Technicians use it every day to understand client environments, investigate issues, and document changes. The challenge is that data often lives somewhere else, and frequently across many systems.
Without integration, technicians must switch between platforms to verify whether a device is protected, check hardware details and software versions, backup status, confirm EDR/XDR is enabled and running, patch management applied, and so on. Documentation quickly becomes outdated.
That was the reality for MSPs using Acronis and IT Glue until now. Not anymore.
The new Acronis integration with IT Glue addresses this problem by continuously synchronizing the device inventory from Acronis Cyber Platform (formerly Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud) to IT Glue, reducing manual work, improving documentation quality and giving technicians faster access to the information they need.

How the IT Glue integration with Acronis works
The integration maps protected devices in Acronis Cyber Platform (formerly Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud) to IT Glue Configurations. In IT Glue, Configurations represent devices or infrastructure assets. Additional device or asset information is stored in what IT Glue calls Flexible Assets.
During synchronization, the integration automatically matches devices using commonly available identifiers, including hostname, serial number, and MAC address. This helps connect existing IT Glue Configurations with the corresponding devices in Acronis without manual reconciliation.
When a matching device is found, Acronis cyber protection data is attached to that Configuration through dedicated Acronis Flexible assets.
When no matching Configuration exists, the integration creates a new one and associates the relevant Acronis Flexible Assets with it.
The synchronization process updates the information so that changes in the protected environment are reflected in IT Glue in minutes.
What information is synchronized
The integration creates and maintains IT Glue Configurations using device attributes available in Acronis Cyber Platform (formerly Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud). This includes information such as:
- Device name and friendly name
- Device type
- Operating system details
- Manufacturer and model
- Serial number
- IP addresses
- MAC addresses
In addition to Configuration data, the integration creates Acronis Flexible Assets that provide visibility into cyber protection status:
- Agent version
- Protection status
- Applied protection plan
- Backup status
- Last and next backup
- Backup scope
- Backup destinations
- Vulnerability assessment status
- Patch management status
- Malware scan status
- Antivirus status
- #CyberFit Score
The integration also creates a deep-link with direct reference to the corresponding device in Acronis Cyber Platform (formerly Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud). When additional investigation is required, technicians can move in one click from IT Glue documentation to the device view in Acronis, validate the device status, and continue troubleshooting.
The first Acronis integration into IT documentation
The IT Glue integration extends cyber protection visibility into the most-used tools MSPs use to document and manage client environments. Additional IT documentation integrations are planned as part of the continued effort to better support partners through our Acronis Technology Ecosystem.
Built for MSP workflows
The integration is designed around existing MSP workflow rather than introducing a new one. IT Glue remains the primary documentation platform. Acronis remains the source of truth for cyber protection. By synchronizing devices attributes and protection data between the two platforms, MSPs can maintain more accurate documentation, reduce manual updates, and give technicians immediate access to the operational information they need to support clients.
