Acronis Disk Director Server, Workstation Suites Add Vista Support

(www.acronis.com/en-us/), a technological leader in storage management software, announced that award-winning Acronis Disk Director Suite and Acronis Disk Director Server, a disk management suite for workstations and servers, respectively, now supports Microsoft Vista.

Acronis Disk Director Server provides users with powerful partition and hard disk management utilities to ensure that servers are running efficiently. The product builds upon the award-winning technologies from Acronis to manage partitions and edit hard disk drives.

Key features of the server product include:

• Command-line interface — create scripts for application tasks
• Partition management — split, merge, resize, copy, move and delete partitions within Windows
• Data destruction — wipe out all data from a deleted partition and from unallocated space
• Hard disk editor — perform advanced editing, such as restoring boot records and hexadecimal editing
• Application log — View all actions performed using the application
• Data recovery — restore damaged partitions

The consumer product adds a multiboot manager, Acronis OS Selector, and works on desktop operating systems; the Server version works with desktop and server operating systems. The server version also adds a management console where networked-based applications can be run and managed.
