Microsoft Intune provides mobile device management, mobile application management, and PC management capabilities from the cloud. Using Intune, organizations can provide their employees with access to corporate applications, data, and resources from virtually anywhere on almost any device, while helping to keep corporate information secure. To enroll mobile devices you must set Intune as your mobile device authority and then configure the infrastructure to support the platforms you want to managed. This requires establishing a trust relationship with the device.
Note: This feature is only supported by the iOS Acronis Access client version iOS 7.0.5 or newer.
Open the Intune management portal and open the Apps page.
Press Add Apps... and download and the file when prompted.
Install the Microsoft Intune Software Publisher.
Note:This step is required only once. If you have already installed the software continue with the next step.
Start the software and login with your Intune credentials.
Select Add Software and press Next.
Press Next on the Before you Begin window.
Click on the drop-down and select Managed iOS App from the App Store.
Enter the URL for the Acronis Access app.
Note: This URL is obtained by logging in iTunes and searching for the app in the Store. When you find the app, click on the dropdown that says Download and select Copy Link.
Enter information about the app that will be displayed on your Intune management portal and an icon.
Select any mobile device requirements that you have. This lets you choose if the app is for iPads or iPhones exclusively.
Note: This feature is currently only supported by the iOS Acronis Access client version 7.0.5 or newer.
After verifying all the information is correct on the Summary screen, press Upload.
Creating a Group
Open the Intune management portal and open the Groups page.
Right-click on the All Users field and select Create Group.
Select if you will create an Empty Group or if you will add the users from other, existing groups. Press Next when ready.
Include or Exclude specific members from this group. Press Next when ready.
Review the summary and press Finish.
Creating an App policy
Mobile App Configuration Policy
This policy affects only the Acronis Access app.
Open the Intune management portal and open the Policy page.
Click on Configuration Policies and press Add.
Expand iOS and select Mobile App Configuration Policy.
Press Create Policy.
Enter a name and description for the policy.
Enter the desired managed app configuration keys. You can see the Acronis Access supported ones at Using iOS Managed App Configuration features. For information on how to set them up, please check the Intunes documentation.
Press Validate and if the validation succeeds, press Save Policy.
Mobile Application Management Policy
This is a general policy that affects all applications on the device(s) that it's applied to. If you do not have a Mobile Application Management Policy, you must create one as it's required for deployment. You can also create a separate policy for Acronis Access if necessary. Open the Intune management portal and open the Policy page.
Click on Configuration Policies and press Add.
Expand Software and select Mobile Application Management Policy.
Select the Create a Policy with the Recommended Settings option and press Create Policy.
The policy will be automatically created and shown in the list. Click on it and press Edit.
Change the name and all of the settings to suit your needs and press Save Policy.
Deployment of the Acronis Access app
Once all of the configuration of Groups and Policies is complete, all that's left is to deploy the app to your users.
Managing deployment
Open the Intune management portal and open the Apps page.
Click on the Acronis Access app and select Manage Deployment from the menu.
Select the groups which will receive the app and press Next.
Select what the deployment will be for each user or group. The options are:
Required (mandatory install), Available (users install from the company portal on demand), Not Applicable (the app is not installed or shown in the company portal), Uninstall (the app will be uninstalled from targeted devices).
You can also set a deadline for the Required installations. Press Next when all configurations are done.
Select the Mobile Application Management Policy for each user and group. This step requires that you have a policy setup and is mandatory. Press Next.
Skip the VPN Profile settings by pressing Next.
Select the Mobile App Configuration Policy for each user and group and press Finish.
