Searching across the console
When you need a specific client, user, device, ticket, or console page, find it from any page, and open it directly from the search results. For example, when a customer reports a problem with a device, search for the device by name instead of browsing the hierarchy. You can also repeat one of your last searches, or reopen an item that you found through search.
To search across the console
Find an item
-
In Cyber Console, in the navigation menu, click Search.
The search window opens next to the navigation menu, and the cursor is in the search box.
-
Enter at least three characters of the item that you are looking for. For example, enter a part of the name of a client, a user, or a device.
The results appear in groups, one group for each type of item. On the All tab, each group shows up to five results. Deleted clients and users appear dimmed with a Deleted badge, and you cannot open them.
-
If tabs appear above the results, select the tab of a type to see only that type of item.
The tab shows up to 15 results.
-
Click the result.
The item opens on its page in the area of the console that manages it, and search closes. The item is added to the Recent list in search.
Open a console page
-
In Cyber Console, in the navigation menu, click Search.
-
Enter at least three characters of the name of the menu item or the menu group.
The matching items appear in the Menu items group, above all other results. Each result shows the menu item and its path. Search matches any part of the name, and the case of the letters does not matter.
Search finds only the items that your navigation menu shows. Search does not find tabs and pages inside an area of the console.
-
Click the menu item.
The page opens, and search closes. If you clicked a menu group, its first item opens.
Repeat a recent search
-
In Cyber Console, in the navigation menu, click Search.
-
If the search box contains text, click Clear.
When the search box has fewer than three characters, search shows the Recent list, and then the Recent searches list.
-
Under Recent searches, click the search.
The search text appears in the search box again, and the results appear.
Reopen a recent item
-
In Cyber Console, in the navigation menu, click Search.
-
If the search box contains text, click Clear.
-
Under Recent, click the item.
The item opens on its page in the area of the console that manages it, and search closes. Items that were deleted and items that you can no longer access stay in the Recent list. If you click one of these items, the page might show an error instead of the item.
Search keeps up to five recent items and three recent searches. For how search keeps the lists, see Global search.
If search does not find what you need, or some groups of results are missing, see Global search troubleshooting. To send your query to Acronis AI instead, see Asking Acronis AI from search.
