Global search
When you know what you need, search is the fastest way to get there. With global search, you find clients, users, devices, tickets, and console pages from any page in Cyber Console, and you open them directly. You do not need to go to their area of the console first, or browse through the client hierarchy.
Search opens in a window next to the navigation menu. When you close search, the page stays as it was. You open search from Search, the first item in the navigation menu, or with Ctrl+K (⌘K on macOS).
How you use search
-
Go straight to a client, user, device, or ticket. For example, when a customer calls, enter the name of the customer or of the device, and open it from the results. See Searching across the console.
-
Open a console page by name. Enter the name of an item in the navigation menu, for example Alerts, instead of looking for it in the menu.
-
Return to your recent work. Before you type, search shows the items that you recently opened from search, and your recent searches.
-
Ask Acronis AI. Send your query or a result to Acronis AI to get an answer, even when search finds nothing. See Asking Acronis AI from search.
What you can search for
Global search finds the following types of items:
-
Menu items and menu groups of the navigation menu
-
All tenants – partners, customers, folders, and units – in the Clients group
-
Users
-
Assets: managed devices (devices that have an agent)
-
Service Desk tickets
Search uses simple text matching. Advanced filters stay on the pages where you manage each type of item. For what each result shows and where it opens, see Global search result types.
How results are shown
Search starts after you enter at least three characters. With one or two characters, no search runs, and the hint Type at least 3 characters to start searching appears. The results appear together after all sources of results respond.
Results appear in groups, one group for each type of item, in a fixed order: Menu items, Clients, Users, Assets, and Tickets. On the All tab, each group shows up to five results. When a group has more results, its header shows First 5 results.
Tabs appear when two or more groups have results: All, and one tab for each group that has results. You can select only one tab at a time. A type tab shows up to 15 results. When there are more, the tab shows First 15 results and the message Too many results to display. Refine your search to narrow down. When you change the query, search returns to the All tab.
Each result shows an icon for its type, the name of the item, and a second line with the owner of the item, or with the path for a menu item. If the text is cut off, you see the full text when you point to it. Deleted clients and users appear dimmed with a Deleted badge, and you cannot open them. When you select a result, the item opens on its page in the area of the console that manages it.
When you close search and open it again, the text that you entered stays in the search box. The Clear button (×) empties the box.
Ask Acronis AI
After you enter at least three characters, the Ask Acronis AI section appears above the results and shows your query in quotes as one row. When you select this row, the Acronis AI panel opens and starts a new conversation with your query, and search closes. On the No results found and Search is temporarily unavailable screens, the link Ask Acronis AI about "<your query>" replaces the section.
Each client, user, asset, ticket, and menu item row ends with an AI icon. The tooltip of the icon is Investigate with Acronis AI. The icon opens the Acronis AI panel with a prompt about that item.
Recent searches and recent items
Before you enter a query, search shows up to five recent items under Recent, and then up to three recent searches under Recent searches. A search is saved when you close search with text in the search box, select a result, or send the query to Acronis AI. An item is saved when you open it from search, so the list contains only items that you found through search, not every page that you visited.
Your browser stores the lists for one user. When another user logs in on the same browser, the lists are cleared. Recent searches older than 7 days are removed. You cannot clear the lists in search. The lists are removed when you clear your browser data.
Search tips
When you point to Search tips in the footer of the search window, a tooltip shows three short tips about what you can search for and how search works.
What you see in the results
Search returns only items that you have permission to access. As a partner administrator, you search across the tenants that you can access in your tenant hierarchy.
Menu items in the results are the items that your navigation menu shows.
