Widgets
A widget displays one set of data on a dashboard, for example, the number of discovered devices or the status of agents. Each widget gets its data from one data source.
Widget library and custom widgets
Add a widget to a dashboard in either of the following ways:
- Choose a predefined widget from the widget library. The library also contains your saved custom widgets.
- Create a custom widget. You select the data source, the widget type, and the size, and then you customize the widget.
You add a widget directly to a section, or to the dashboard outside of its sections. To move a widget from outside the sections into a section, drag it.
Customizing a widget
Every widget is customizable, including the widgets of the default dashboards. The ellipsis (...) menu on a widget has the actions Edit and Delete. When you edit a widget, you set:
- The name and the description of the widget
- The data source, the widget type, and the size
- The filters, the time range, and the exclusions of data
- The layout, such as the colors, the labels, the number format, the tooltips, and the legend
To reuse an existing widget for other data, edit it, and select another data source. For a description of every setting, see Widget settings.
Widget types
The following widget types are available for a custom widget:
- Line Chart
- Bar Chart
- Pie Chart
- Table
- Kpi Card
- Gauge
-
Text – shows text. The widget has the following subtypes:
- Static text – a text that you write, for example, a note in a report.
- AI prompt – a text that Acronis AI generates from the data that you select, for example, a summary of a section of a dashboard. For more information, see the following section.
AI prompt in a text widget
Use an AI prompt to add a written summary of your data to a dashboard or to a report. Acronis AI processes the prompt on the server, and the generated text appears in the widget. In the Summarise field, select what Acronis AI summarizes:
- Its own data source – the data source of the widget. This is the default option.
- This section – the section that contains the widget.
- One widget – one widget that you select.
- A group of widgets – one or more widgets that you select, from any section.
- Sections – every widget in the sections that you select.
You can also write your own prompt to tell Acronis AI what to write. The prompt works with every option. After you save the widget, it shows the summary of your selection, based on your prompt.
Widget size
The width and the height of a widget are each set to Small, Medium, or Large. By default, the width is Small and the height is Medium. Resize a widget to fit its data, and arrange the widgets in the layout that you want by dragging them.
