Acronis backup and recovery software now available at PC World

Acronis True Image Home 2009 ensures the safety of digital files, photos and music

8 December 2008, UK - PC World Britain's largest specialist chain of computing superstores has signed an agreement with Acronis to distribute the vendor's backup and recovery solutions aimed at protecting consumers' PCs and laptops.

Acronis True Image Home 2009 is the vendor's latest version of its True Image Home disk imaging and backup software for home users. It protects users' PCs and allows them to recover quickly from the impact of threats such as viruses, unstable software downloads and failed hard drives.

Kevin Moreau, general manager UK and Ireland comments, "The files, photos and music which people keep on their home PCs and laptops are now considerably more valuable than the systems which they are stored on. But sometimes their systems aren't in working order which can lead to hardware failure. By working in partnership with PC World we will allow consumers to buy our products off the shelf, safeguarding their valuable files from corruption and allowing them to protect their entire system."

Acronis True Image Home provides both full image and file-based backups. Image-based backups take a snapshot of an entire machine - including programs and the operating system - which can be restored in the event of a hard drive crash or full operating system failure. With file-based backups, users can select specific files and folders to protect.

Peter Duncombe, Trading Director at PC World comments, "Acronis offers a tried and tested technology which ensures the safety of customers' precious digital assets. Its solutions provide customers' with easy to use and reliable technology, perfect for protecting their home PCs and laptops. We are delighted to be able to offer it to our customers."
