Device actions
Device actions let you control a device that has an agent without connecting to it. For example, you can restart a device, put it to sleep, log out a user who left a session open, or wipe the data on a device.
You run an action on one device, from the device list or from the device details. Before the action runs, you verify the device in a dialog. See Running a device action.
Conditions for device actions
Restart, Shut down, Sleep, Log out remote user, and Empty recycle bin run only if the device meets all of the following conditions:
-
The device runs Windows, macOS, or Linux.
-
The device is online.
-
The agent on the device is version 15.0.31083 or later. If the agent version is unknown, Cyber Console does not check the version.
Log out remote user and Empty recycle bin also need at least one active user session on the device.
To run Restart, Shut down, Sleep, Log out remote user, or Empty recycle bin, you must enable two-factor authentication for your user account. Otherwise, the action does not run, and To perform this action, you must enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for your account. appears.
If the device does not meet a condition, the dialog of the action shows a message about the condition, and the action does not run. For example, if the device runs another operating system, the dialog shows This action is not supported for this workload type. If no user is logged in to the device, the dialog of Log out remote user shows This action requires at least one active user session on the workload.
For the conditions of each action, see Device action conditions.
