Device list
The rows and columns of the device list come from five controls that work together: the tenant selector, the key metrics, the filters, search, and the view.
The device list on the All devices page shows the devices that have an agent. The devices that you see depend on your role. See Assets.
Parts of the list scope
- Tenant selector
-
By default, the list shows the devices of all your clients. The tenant selector narrows the list to the devices of one client. You can search the tenant selector by name, and expand partners and folders to reach their clients. You cannot select a tenant that is in self-service mode or that does not allow support access.
- Key metrics
-
The five tiles above the list show the number of devices that match each tile. When you click a tile, the list shows only those devices, and a tag, such as Status: Healthy, appears under the tiles. The key metric filter stays until you click the selected tile again or remove the tag. You can select only one tile at a time. When you click Total, you clear the search and all filters. The tile counts reflect the search and the filters, but not the selected tile. See Key metrics.
- Filters
-
Apply filters opens the filters. By default, the filters are Protection status and Last successful backup. With Customize, you can add other fields from the following groups: General, CPU, memory, disks, Operating system, Agent, Location, and Protection. The Tenant name and Customer tenant ID fields filter the list by customer.
Each filter condition appears as a tag.
You can save the filter conditions as a custom filter. See Saving a custom filter.
- Search
-
Search finds devices by name. See Searching for a device.
- View
-
A view sets which columns the list shows, and in which order. The built-in views are Default and Hardware. You cannot rename or delete a built-in view.
You can save the visible columns as a custom view, set a view as the default, and rename or delete your custom views. See Creating a custom view, Managing custom views, and Device list columns.
How the parts combine
All parts apply at the same time. The tenant selector, the key metrics, the filters, and search decide which rows appear. The view decides which columns appear.
For example, if you select a client in the tenant selector, click the Unprotected tile, and search for "accounting", the list shows the unprotected devices of that client whose name contains "accounting".
Loading and empty list
The list loads 30 devices at a time. More devices load as you scroll down.
The list can show the following messages:
-
No devices yet – no device is registered.
-
No devices match your filters – no device matches the key metric filter, the filters, or the search.
-
A warning that the list might be incomplete – some device sources are unavailable.
If the list cannot load, an error message with the Try again button appears. The button loads the list again.
