Agents

An agent is an AI component that can investigate a problem and act on what it finds. Agents are what allow a workflow to go beyond fixed rules: a workflow passes information to an agent, such as an alert, and the agent returns its findings for the next steps to use.

The Agents page lists the agents that are available to you, and shows what each one does and what information it needs. Agents are built and maintained by Acronis. You cannot change them.

The agents that run in workflows are available only when Service Desk is active for your organization, because they are part of Alert automation.

Information shown for each agent

  • Name – The name of the agent. Click it to see the agent's details.

  • Availability – Where you can use the agent. Studio Workflows means that the agent runs as a step in a workflow.

  • Description – What the agent does.

  • Version – The version of the agent.

  • Inputs – The information that the agent needs to start, such as the alert ID and alert type.

Agents during the Early Access Program (EAP)

During the EAP, two agents are available. Both are used by Alert automation:

  • The alert diagnosis agent investigates a supported alert. It checks the alert, the affected device, and related history, such as earlier alerts and backup activity, and returns a diagnosis and a recommended resolution plan. This agent only reads information. It does not change anything on your devices.

  • The alert remediation agent carries out the approved steps of a resolution plan, and then checks that the problem is fixed. It runs only steps that pass the Acronis safety checks. For more information, see How alert automation works.
