Creating a tenant
When you sign a new customer, or a partner that resells your services, create a tenant for it. You specify the administrator, the services, and the compliance settings of the tenant on one page. To save time, clone the configuration of an existing client of the same type.
You create a tenant below the current tenant, which becomes the parent of the new tenant. The tenant types that you can create depend on the parent and on your permissions. Below a partner or a folder, you can create a folder or a customer. If partner creation is enabled for your account, you can also create a partner. Below a customer or a unit, you can create only a unit.
To create a tenant
-
In Cyber Console, go to Clients.
-
In the tenant selector, select the parent tenant.
-
Click Create, and then select the tenant type: Customer, Folder, Partner, or Unit.
The Create <tenant type> in <parent tenant name> page opens. For example, Create Customer in Partner A.
-
In the General information section, specify the following:
-
In Client name, enter the name of the tenant.
The name must be unique. If another tenant already uses it, the field shows This name is already in use by another tenant.
-
In Language, select the language of the tenant.
By default, the language is the language of the parent tenant.
-
If you create a customer, in Pricing mode, select one of the following:
-
Trial: 30-day evaluation – to let the customer evaluate the services for a limited period. This value is selected by default.
-
Production – to bill the customer for service usage.
Later, you can switch a customer from the Trial pricing mode to the Production pricing mode, but you cannot switch it back.
-
-
If you create a customer or a partner, in Management mode, select one of the following:
-
Managed – you keep full access to the client and manage its services. This value is selected by default.
-
Self-service – the client manages its own services, and your access is limited.
-
-
If you create a customer and the Compliance standards switch is shown, enable it, and then in Standards, select at least one compliance standard.
The switch is disabled by default. If you enable it, you cannot create the tenant without a standard.
-
-
If you create a customer, a partner, or a unit, in the Administrator section, specify the administrator of the tenant:
-
Enter the first name and the last name of the administrator.
The names are optional for a customer and a unit. For a partner, the names are required when the partner needs an administrator, or when you enter an email address.
-
In Email, enter the email address of the administrator.
If the address is not valid, the field shows Enter a valid email address.
-
To use a login that is different from the email address, enable Use login that is different from email, and then enter the login in Login.
After the tenant is created, you cannot change the login.
A customer and a self-service partner must have an administrator. For a managed partner and a unit, the administrator is optional. A folder has no administrator.
-
-
If you create a customer, a folder, or a partner, in the Service configuration section, configure the services of the tenant in one of the following ways:
Clone from existing client
Copy the service configuration of a tenant of the same type under the same parent.
-
Select Clone from existing client.
-
In Source client, search for and select the tenant whose configuration you want to copy.
The list shows only the tenants of the same type under the same parent tenant.
If the list shows No clients of this type to clone from., use Custom configuration instead.
-
To change the copied configuration, click Edit configuration, and then change the services and quotas.
Custom configuration
Configure the services from the start. This method is selected by default.
-
Select Custom configuration.
-
Enable the services that the tenant needs, disable the services that it does not need, and then set the quotas of the enabled services.
Each service starts with its default status. Some services are enabled by default, and others are disabled.
-
-
At the top right of the page, click Create, or click Cancel if you decide not to create the tenant.
If a field is not valid, the page scrolls to the first field with an error. Correct the error, and then click Create again.
The page shows the progress of the creation. After the tenant is created, it appears in the client list.
If the tenant is created but some of its settings are not applied, a warning appears at the affected field, and the Create button changes to Retry. See A tenant is created, but some settings are not applied.
