Policy list
The policy list shows the policies of every type that you can access in the selected client and its child tenants, so that you can review them and act on them in one place.
The policy list is on the All policies page, under Protection > Policies > All policies. The policies that you see and the actions that you can run depend on your role. See Protection.
Which policies appear
By default, the tenant selector shows All clients, and the list shows the policies of every client in your scope. When you select a client in the tenant selector, that client becomes the root of the list, and the list shows the following policies:
-
The policies that the selected client owns
-
The policies that the direct and indirect child tenants of the selected client own
-
The policies that a parent tenant owns and that are applied to assets in this scope
A policy that a parent tenant owns is read-only.
A lock icon next to the policy name marks a policy that a parent tenant owns.
The Owner column shows Service provider for such a policy. You can open and export such a policy, but you cannot change it. A policy that a parent tenant owns and that is applied to no asset in this scope does not appear in the list.
The list never shows the policies of sibling tenants or of tenants outside your scope. Policy templates do not appear in the list.
The tenant selector, the filters, the search, and the active view apply at the same time. Each of them can only narrow the list, never widen it.
The list loads more policies as you scroll.
What a row shows
Each row identifies the policy type and the tenant that owns the policy. A Default tag on the policy name marks a default policy, and a star marks a favorite policy.
When you click the policy name, the policy details page opens. On the policy details page, you can review the configuration of the policy, the assets that it is applied to, the compatibility issues of its assets, its activities, and its alerts. See Policy details.
Sort order
By default, the list sorts the policies by name, in ascending order. You can sort the list by the Name, Type, Assets, Owner, and Created at columns. A sort by Type does not follow the alphabetical order of the type names.
Empty list and loading errors
The list can show the following messages:
-
No policies found – the selected client has no policies that you can access, or the search or the filters exclude all policies. The message continues with Create a new policy or adjust filters to get started.
-
The list of policies cannot be displayed for the selected level – the list is not available for the level that is selected in the tenant selector. The message asks you to select a child tenant in the tenant selector.
If the list cannot load for another reason, an error message appears with the Retry button. The button loads the list again.
