Acronis Cyber Protection Agent 15.x for Windows has been granted OPSWAT Platinum Certification for Anti-Malware in July 2021. This represents another step forward for our cyber protection technology, which had previously earned Gold Certification, and demonstrates Acronis’ continued focus on refining the effectiveness and compatibility of our solutions, meeting the needs of the ever-evolving cyberthreat and IT landscapes.
Acronis and the OPSWAT Access Control Certification Program
First launched in 2007, the OPSWAT Access Control Certification Program evaluates next-generation anti-malware and encryption products, assessing compatibility with leading access control solutions and their efficacy at protecting endpoints with a high degree of confidence.
Platinum-level certification in this program requires products to meet various criteria for compatibility and effectiveness. Since its release, Acronis Cyber Protect has featured capabilities that cover many of these requirements, including the ability to:
- Detect when the last full-system anti-malware scan was completed
- Provide real-time anti-malware protection even if network access is interrupted
- Enable effective remediation after an incident has begun
- Update anti-malware definitions frequently and in a timely manner
- Recognize at least 55% of the top 10,000 daily threats identified by OPSWAT MetaDefender Cloud
Another requirement relates to the scores awarded by independent testing labs. Acronis Cyber Protect meets each of these requirements for all third-party assessors with whom we participate in public tests or certifications.
Earlier this year, the Acronis Cyber Protection Agent earned Gold Certification while also meeting nearly all requirements for the Platinum level. With the since-added ability to detect the last time that local endpoint anti-malware definitions were updated and compare this against the the newest definitions available from Acronis, our agent has now exceeded its previous performance and earned top marks.
“Receiving OPSWAT’s Platinum Certification is an important achievement, and one that we take great pride in,” said Candid Wüest, VP of Cyber Protection Research at Acronis. “This recognition demonstrates our success in developing anti-malware technology that effectively secures customer endpoints while meeting the increased need for complete integration. Acronis continues to hone our solutions and to deliver increasingly seamless, complete cyber protection.”
