Managing tenants
As your business changes, keep your hierarchy in line with it. For example, move a customer to another partner or folder, disable a customer temporarily, delete a customer that left, or switch a trial customer to production. You can run an action on one tenant from its row, or on up to 100 tenants at once from the bulk actions bar.
Tenant actions
The ellipsis icon (...) in the row of a tenant, the header of the client details, and the bulk actions bar show only the actions that apply to the tenant type, the tenant status, and the permissions of your role.
| Action | What it does | For several tenants |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Moves the tenant to another partner or folder. The destination cannot be a tenant with the Disabled status, or a tenant in the Self-service management mode. You cannot move units. | Yes |
| Convert to folder | Converts the tenant to a folder, which only groups other tenants. The Type column shows Folder. | Yes |
| Convert to partner | Converts a folder to a partner. The Type column shows Partner. | Yes |
| Disable | Disables an active tenant, and its users lose access. The tenant stays in the client list with the Disabled status. | Yes |
| Enable | Enables a tenant with the Disabled status, and its users regain access. The Status column shows Active. For one tenant, the action runs immediately, without a dialog. | Yes |
| Delete | Deletes the tenant. An active tenant is disabled first, and then deleted. A deleted tenant stays in the client list with the Deleted status, but you cannot open its details, and it does not appear in the tenant selector. | Yes |
| Restore | Recovers a deleted tenant. The tenant loses the Deleted status and appears in the tenant selector again. For one tenant, the action runs immediately, without a dialog. | Yes |
| Switch to production | Ends the trial of the tenant and starts to bill the tenant for service usage. You cannot switch a unit, and you cannot switch a tenant back. The Pricing mode column shows Production. For the pricing modes, see Clients. | No |
To rename a tenant or assign a custom ID, see Managing tenant names and IDs.
Running a tenant action
When you select tenants for a bulk action, each button in the bulk actions bar shows how many of the selected tenants the action applies to. A button is disabled when the action does not apply to any selected tenant, when your role does not allow changes, or when you cannot manage one of the selected tenants. The dialog of the action lists the tenants that it applies to and the tenants that it skips, with the reason, on separate tabs.
To run a tenant action
One tenant
-
In Cyber Console, go to Clients.
-
In the row of the tenant, click the ellipsis icon (...), and then click the action.
The same actions are also in the header of the client details. Enable and Restore run immediately, and the procedure ends here.
-
In the dialog, confirm the action.
For Move, select the destination partner or folder first.
-
If an error message appears, run the action again. If the action fails again, contact the Support team.
The client list shows the result. For example, the Status column shows Disabled, or the moved tenant appears under the destination.
Several tenants
-
In Cyber Console, go to Clients.
-
In the client list, select the checkbox next to each tenant that you want to change.
You can select up to 100 tenants. The bulk actions bar shows how many tenants are selected, and the Clear selection button.
-
In the bulk actions bar, click the action.
A dialog lists the tenants that the action applies to. For Move, select the destination partner or folder, and then click Next →.
-
In the dialog, click the button that has the action name.
The dialog shows how many tenants are complete out of the total.
Do not close or reload the page until the action completes. Do not change the selected tenants in another session at the same time, to prevent conflicting changes.
-
If the Operation summary dialog opens, review the result for each tenant, and then click Retry to run the action again for the failed tenants, or Done to close the dialog.
If the action fails again, contact the Support team.
If the action succeeds for every tenant, the dialog closes, and a message confirms the result. The client list shows the result for each tenant.
Deleted tenants stay in the client list, so you can recover them only from the client list. For how to show only the deleted tenants, see Finding and customizing the client list.
