Latest Ransomware Demands $300 for Data

PandaLabs recently discovered a ransomware called Trj/Crypdef.A, which encrypts files before making an offer users can't refuse: Users can rescue their data by paying a mere $300. The largest cyberattack involving patient information jeopardized 4.5 million medical records at the Community Health Services in China. The attack was the result of malicious software, though Community Health Services representatives say the software has been removed. (via the Los Angeles Times)
