Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
for service providers

VMworld Barcelona is here and we’re focused on preparations for our booth located at G122, while also finalizing business back in our home offices. If you are anywhere near as busy as we are, and we don’t doubt that you are, then you have little to no time to really find out how to maximize your VMworld experience.

So I thought, I’d help you out a bit and pick out four things that will make VMworld absolutely worth your time.

While Barcelona may not be the largest VMworld conference, it absolutely does not lack in quality. About 9,000 IT directors, datacenter and network architects, and IT staff are expected to be in attendance. Also over half of those in attendance have more than four years of experience in working with virtualization. That means you are going to feel like a pea in a pod. Chat with your peers, hear how they’ve tackled that pesky problem you’re trying to solve and learn what type of backup system they prefer.

Obviously you can’t talk with everyone here, but you do have the opportunity to gain access to some of the key thought leaders in virtualization and backup. Carl Eschenbach, VMware's President and COO, along with VMware's engineering leaders will showcase state-of-the-art technology that is transforming IT during Wednesday’s General Session. Acronis’ experts will also be sharing their time and insight at several talks. Stop in and learn the best practices for migrating your data over to the cloud on Wednesday from Seth Goodling, ‎Director of Strategic Technologies. On Thursday, Acronis General Manager for Cloud Business Rene Oldenbeuving will overview the history of IaaS Clouds and describe how self-service can make or break your private or public Cloud.

You have a few days out of the office, so you don’t have to work all the time. Tuesday is great for Wine&Cheese Acronis Party: amazing location, great people and the best selection of wine and cheese. Register now and get ready to enjoy the best party ever at VMworld. On Wednesday evening VMware is setting up a Hall Crawl to facilitate relaxed networking. Once you feel like your brain is filled to the brim from the sessions, go pick up a few drinks and appetizers. The Hall Crawl also presents an ideal opportunity to learn about some of the latest advancements in your field, so be sure to take advantage of it!

Last but not least, you’re in Barcelona, so make sure you get outside! The weather report says it should be 73 degrees Fahrenheit (22.5 C) on average for the week. Once you’ve made some new friends, head outside with them and see why Barcelona boasts of majestic streets ideal for pedestrian walking. In fact, Barcelona is home to the most walked street in Spain called the Portal de l'Ángel. Approximately 3,500 pedestrians walk down the Portal de l'Ángel every hour. In between sessions, see what all the fuss is about and take a stroll outside.
