Acronis Wins Computerworld Malaysia Readers’ Choice Award

Kuala Lumpur - Singapore, 14 October 2015 - Acronis®, a global leader in new generation data protection, today announced it was selected as a winner at the annual Computerworld Malaysia Reader's Choice Awards, coming in first in the Networked Storage category, strengthening the company's position as a leading brand for data protection solutions in the Asia Pacific Region.

Acronis achieved this recognition alongside the industry leaders, such as Hewlett-Packard Malaysia, Microsoft Malaysia and SAP Malaysia, who won in 10 out of the 30 available categories, which were divided into eight award sections: Communications, Cloud, Enterprise Applications, Hardware, Security, Storage, Services and Virtualization.

The Readers' Choice Awards recognized Acronis backup and storage technology as one of the most reliable, scalable and cost-efficient software defined storage solutions for backup & data archiving.

Acronis Storage, helps service providers to reduce the scale-out storage costs associated with capex challenges related to traditional high-end storage offerings. Acronis Storage eliminates limitations of hardware storage systems by shifting the management of traditional storage challenges around reliability and data access to the software layer. It integrates directly with the Acronis Backup & Recovery family of solutions and comes with self-healing data processes and efficient redundancy.

The Awards, commonly referred to as the "Oscars of the Malaysian IT industry," go to technology vendors who score the highest in the areas of price, performance, feature sets, reliability and ease of use. Computerworld Malaysia readers do the actual evaluation and then participate in an online survey.

The survey is conducted by Executive Networks Research, the research arm of Executive Networks Media, on behalf of Computerworld Malaysia, following industry best practices to deliver statistically valid results from the country's qualified information and communication executives, including Computerworld Malaysia readers.

Mark Hobson, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Networks Media applauded all award winning companies. "From this year onwards, the Readers' Choice Awards in both Malaysia and Singapore has put the widened the spotlight to include the service providers - as company brands - rather than just their specific IT products and services. This move is in tune with the growing emphasis on the service providers' benefits and values delivered through products and services that match end user needs, which as well as enhancing customer engagement, better support the winning companies' deepening partnership with their customers."

"We are honored to receive this recognition from the readers of Computerworld Malaysia," "Our goal is to deliver a complete set of data protection solutions that are fast, easy and reliable for our partners and end user customers to use, and receiving this award helps confirm that we are delivering on this promise," Serg Bell, CEO of Acronis, said.
