Acronis Announces Availability of Acronis Backup Cloud and the Service Provider License Agreement Program in Korea

Korea-Singapore, November 20th, 2015 - Acronis®, a global leader in new generation data protection, today announced the availability of Acronis Backup Cloud and the Acronis Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) Program in the Korean market. Korean service providers can now take advantage of the Acronis Backup Cloud offering to rapidly bring new data protection services to market and grow revenue.

The cloud computing market in Korea was worth $558.8 million in 2014 and is expected to reach $677.5 million in 2015, growing 21%, according to a recent LG CNS study.

The strong growth in the cloud computing marketing in Korea is expected to continue, following the Korean's government's support for advanced cloud computing and infrastructure expansion. Korea's recently adopted Act on Promotion of Cloud Computing and User Protection, known as the Korean Cloud Act, identified the cloud as key to innovation and operational efficiency and encouraged Korean companies and organizations to implement cloud services.

Acronis meets the country's demand for cloud-enabled services by enabling existing hosting companies and service integrators to sell, manage and deliver high value data protection capabilities that create new revenue streams without a large upfront investment.

Acronis Backup Cloud for Service Providers

Designed for service providers, Acronis Cloud Backup provides a pay-for-use model with zero entry costs and delivers complete protection for business customers, including support for workstations, Windows, Linux, physical and virtual servers. Underscoring the growing trend of distributors building their businesses by provisioning cloud services, existing and new partners in Korea can now deliver Acronis Backup Cloud to local customers.

"Acronis offers many opportunities for service providers, including backup, secure file access and sharing and disaster-recovery solutions. Acronis Backup Cloud gives them the ability to offer advanced data protection to their customers with an easily managed and monitored high-margin service that delivers security and scalability," said Jan-Jaap Jager, General Manager of the Acronis Cloud Business Unit.

Acronis SPLA Program Launched in Korea

The Acronis Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) is designed for service providers who want to license and host the latest eligible Acronis data protection solutions to provide backup and disaster recovery services to end customers directly or through resellers.

The Acronis SPLA program covers Acronis Backup Advanced, Acronis Backup Advanced for VCloud, and Acronis Storage products, which can be licensed on a monthly basis to provide data protection and disaster recovery as-a-service solutions to their end customers.

"Korea is a very important market for Acronis. We have a number of high profile customers here and our business continues to grow rapidly ever since we opened Acronis Korea branch in 2009. Acronis Backup Cloud and the availability of Acronis SPLA program in Korea will be welcomed by local service providers, who are keen to secure their share of this rapidly-growing cloud services market," said Sunny Suh, Acronis Korea Country Manager.
