Policy actions
The following table lists the actions that you can run on a policy.
| Action | What it does | Multiple policies | Offered when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enable | Enables a disabled policy on its assets. The action runs without confirmation. See Enabling a policy. | Yes | The policy is disabled on at least one of its assets |
| Disable | Disables the policy for all its assets, after you confirm in the Disable policy dialog. See Disabling a policy. | Yes | The policy is enabled on at least one of its assets |
| Export | Downloads the configuration of the policy as a JSON file that is named after the policy, with a timestamp. If the export fails, a message asks you to try again. See Exporting a policy. | No | Every policy, including a policy that a parent tenant owns |
Every action except Export first checks whether two-factor authentication is enabled for your user account. If it is not enabled, a dialog asks you to enable it, and the action does not run.
A lock icon next to the policy name marks a policy that a parent tenant owns.
You can only export such a policy.
The actions that you can run also depend on your role. If your role does not allow you to enable or disable a policy, you cannot run Enable or Disable. See Protection.
On the actions ribbon, an action runs only on the selected policies that it applies to, and Cyber Console skips the others. If an action applies to none of the selected policies, its button is unavailable, and its tooltip says None of the selected policies are applicable for this action.
You can also run these actions from the policy details page.
