Large Non-Profit Assured Data Recovery and Confidentiality with Acronis True Image

August 28, 2007, Paris, France - Acronis EMEA (www.acronis.com/en-eu/), a provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery software, announced that Carolina Legal Assistance, A Disability Rights Center (CLA), is utilizing Acronis True Image Server to ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive client information.

Acronis True Image Server helped CLA migrate its servers and more than 35 personal computers. With the Acronis donation, CLA now has disaster recovery protection by having full images of its mission-critical servers, and the ability to create transportable images and restore them to different hardware if necessary.

Additionally, Acronis provided CLA with the tools to ensure private information can never be accessed from old hard drives, a level of document security that is mandated by the government. CLA now relies on Acronis Drive Cleanser, which can securely wipe all data from old disks or partitions, as well as provide file-level data destruction.

"With its recent statewide designation and subsequent office relocation, CLA will provide legal advice and assistance to a larger population. In doing so, we must be certain that our confidential electronic data will remain available to us and secure in the same way it was before," said Bob Simons of Secure Computing Services of Raleigh, NC, a consultant who works with the CLA on technology-related issues. "Acronis True Image will make a huge difference to our program, allowing us to keep all legal documentation at the ready and, if necessary, once again move this information quickly and easily to new hardware."

"We are proud to help CLA serve people with disabilities across the State of North Carolina," said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "The IT staff had two major needs - to be able to migrate from one hardware platform to another and for a backup and recovery solution that would protect original, confidential documentation. We not only were able to fulfill both needs, but to do so in a manner that had minimum disruption."
