Brazilian insurance giant Porto Seguro hit with ransomware

Porto Seguro, one of Brazil's largest insurance groups, has fallen victim to a ransomware attack.

While the company disclosed the attack to the Securities and Exchange Commission, little is publicly known about the details of this event. Porto Seguro says that no data leakage has been identified, but time will tell.

With around 10 million clients, over 13,000 employees, and an estimated annual revenue of $5.1 billion, Porto Seguro is an undeniably high-value target. Still, many such companies — across Brazil and the world at large — are not investing enough in cyber protection services.

Acronis Cyber Protect features advanced anti-malware engines that use behavioral analysis to identify both known and unknown variants of ransomware and cyberthreats, blocking their execution before they cause harm to your systems or data.
