While the power of remote work is strong, having research and development (R&D) facilities around the world enables you to attract the top talent and put them together in a place that’s equipped to let them create the next big thing. That’s why Acronis just opened a new office in Herzliya, Israel. The new office, which was officially opened on June 23, will focus on conducting cybersecurity research and development. The office will also enable Acronis to empower partners in the region – both current and new cloud partners – with local sales and marketing, technical, and educational support.

Recognizing the power of cyber protection: Acronis gets $250M+ investment, valuation at $2.5B+
A new day is dawning for Acronis and the IT industry. Today we announced that Acronis has secured more than $250 million in a funding round led by CVC Capital Partners VII and other investors, bringing our valuation to more than $2.5 billion. More than doubling our valuation in 18 months – especially during a global pandemic – is a testament to the power of Acronis’ cyber protection technology and the dedication of our network of more than 50,000 partners.  This funding round comes at a pivotal time, as Acronis has been intensifying our support for service provider partners to deliver cyber protection to businesses of any size.  These funds will immediately be used to further accelerate our current growth strategy.

Cybersecurity guide for boards of directors: Acronis contributes to World Economic Forum report
Given our role as a global leader in cyber protection, the Acronis team is often tapped for our expertise and insights. Such contributions are why Acronis is a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Centre for Cybersecurity – and why we were part of a working group that contributed to a new report released by the WEF that warns that cybersecurity failure is a “clear and present danger” and critical global threat. The WEF’s new Principles for Board Governance of Cyber Risk Report notes that while cybersecurity failures are a major threat, the responses from board directors have been fragmented, risks not fully understood, and collaboration between industries limited. Boards of directors need to play a more active role in protecting their organization from cyber risks. The new WEF report that we contributed to provides a solution to this fragmentation.

Reflecting on women in tech for International Womens Day 2021
International Women's Day is the perfect time to think about the strides female IT professionals have made over the years. While women make up nearly half of the employed adults in the total workforce, recent findings by Catalyst reveal that women hold only a quarter of the jobs in the tech industry. The idea that there are fewer women in the tech field isn’t what surprised me. The shock came when I realized that number is even lower than it was in 1980. For all of the efforts to open the field, the number of women in tech roles is actually declining!
