Desert Schools Federal Credit Union Standardizes On Acronis True Image Enterprise Server For Computing Disaster Recovery

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF., May 31, 2005 — Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management solutions, announced that the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, based in Phoenix, AZ, has standardized on Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 8.0 for Windows, the latest version of Acronis' award-winning disk imaging, disaster recovery and bare-metal backup and restore utility, as its corporate server disaster recovery solution.

Desert Schools, a not-for-profit cooperative, is the state's largest credit union with more than $2 billion in assets; 286,000 members in Gila, Maricopa and Pinal Counties; and 42 branch locations.

"Desert Schools was looking for a backup and disaster recovery solution that did not require the full reconfiguration of a server when it had to be restored," said Doug Baer, the systems engineer of the financial institution. "We require a lot of custom configuration for our servers and did not want to rebuild a server from scratch after a failure. It could take days to get the server up and running. With the Acronis solution, we can provide high-quality service and ensure that our data, and our members' personal and financial information, is safe and secure."

The credit union added Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 8.0 to its backup protocol after using Acronis True Image for backing up desktop systems for more than a year. "By creating an exact image of each of our 15 most mission-critical servers, we can restore a damaged hard disk quickly or recover from a virus or spyware attack and have the server back up and running in minutes, not hours or days," added Baer "Acronis True Image exceeded our expectations and has become our corporate standard for backup and disaster recovery for servers and desktops."

"Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is completely sold on Acronis True Image," added Doug Bauer, systems engineer. "It has decreased downtime, as the product can restore a server in minutes and eliminated the need to rebuild complex server configurations from scratch. And because it is easy to use, far more members of the IT staff are capable of restoring a down server, giving us far greater staffing flexibility."

"Acronis enjoys a special relationship with financial services companies worldwide," added Stephen Lawton, Acronis director of marketing. "Be they credit unions, banks, credit reporting agencies or insurance companies, these institutions have special needs and Acronis is proud to provide the highest quality disaster recovery solution that meets their particular requirements."

Financial details of the agreement were not released.
