Liga Elevated to Master Distributor of Acronis Technology to Meet the Growing Demand for Fast Data Protection and Disaster Recovery in the Nordic Region

Danish IT-distribution company Liga appointed Master Distributor for Acronis across the three Nordic territories

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland, September 26, 2016 -Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection, today announced that the Copenhagen-based software distributor Liga has extended its agreement with Acronis to become the Master Distributor of Acronis data protection solutions, including backup, cloud storage, file, sync & share, and disaster recovery in Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Under the new agreement Liga will be responsible for all marketing of Acronis' consumer and business products, meeting the growing demand for quality backup and recovery products in the Scandinavian region.

Liga has had a strong partnership relationship with Acronis for a number of years. The new agreement will enable Liga to provide extended support and improved customer service, ensuring that partners and customers can always access the latest technology.

According to Technavio, the global cloud backup and recovery software market is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 13% from 2016-2020.* Acronis technology enables managed services providers, hosters, telcos, and anyone wanting to become a cloud services provider to deliver easy, complete, and affordable data protection through the use of a scale-out architecture, volume purchasing power, automation, and commodity hardware.

Acronis differs from other data protection vendors in that it delivers a complete hybrid cloud architecture that easily plugs into existing service provider environments, while seamlessly supporting their management and business support systems.

Acronis recently released a complete set of fast and easy to use data protection solutions, including Acronis Backup 12, Acronis Backup Cloud, Acronis Monitoring Service, Acronis Storage, and Acronis Notary, which are based on the company's new hybrid cloud architecture to support complete data protection and recovery in virtually any IT environment.

The core product, Acronis Backup 12, provides the broadest range of data protection support for Microsoft infrastructure and applications, including Microsoft Exchange, Office365, SharePoint, Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows PC, Hyper-V, Azure, as well as Azure Stack upon its release to the market. Acronis Backup 12 is also the first commercially available solution to support the upcoming release of Microsoft Windows Server 2016, including Hyper-V with resilient change tracking (RCT).

Commenting on the appointment, Jakob Olsen, Vice President and Managing Director Europe, Acronis, said: "We have always had an excellent relationship with Liga, and they have been a great partner and an important distributor for us since 2011. The company's staff are highly qualified and experienced in Acronis products, and appointing them as a Master Distributor for the region is a natural next step in our cooperation."

Bjarke Alling, CEO, Liga added: "Acronis delivers state-of-the-art back-up and disaster recovery solutions, and we're seeing a growing demand for the company's customer friendly products. Naturally we're both happy and proud to be appointed Master Distributor across Denmark, Norway and Finland. The new role means that this enables us - along with the partners - to communicate both the partners' service skills and the many advantages of Acronis' products."
