Acronis True Image 7.0 provides the most comprehensive workstation backup solution

Incremental backup, scheduling, backup image verification, Acronis Secure Zone® and other features to reduce IT costs, provide the best ROI

South San Francisco, CA, December 10, 2003 — Acronis, Inc., a technological leader in storage management software, today launched Acronis True Image 7.0, the latest version of its award-winning, complete disk imaging backup and disaster recovery solution. New incremental backup, scheduling, image verification, and disk cloning features provide the most comprehensive and reliable workstation backup solution, significantly reducing IT costs.

Another added feature is the Acronis Secure Zone®, which makes it possible to create a partition on a primary disk drive and use it as the convenient backup location. This zone also can be used by those who do not have dedicated backup storage, such as writeable CD and DVD drives, external hard disks and the like.

To restore an image to a disk drive, the software can execute its unique Acronis Startup Recovery Manager, an application that can boot a computer even if has no operating system installed. "Acronis not only provides the easiest and most user-friendly software to create a complete system back-up, but it also provides the most intuitive software to restore the system," said Max Tsypliaev, president of Acronis, Inc.

In addition to its disk imaging capabilities, Acronis True Image 7.0 now incorporates all of the features of Acronis Migrate Easy, a hard disk deployment solution. This includes the ability to clone a disk drive, prepare a disk for redeployment, and to wipe data from an old drive.

"The greatest benefit any backup software can provide is the ability to get the entire system working exactly the way it was before the failure with almost zero downtime," Tsypliaev added. "The Acronis True Image disk imaging backup approach makes it possible to restore a system literally in minutes, providing the most comprehensive data protection. File-level backups cannot copy open Windows files and therefore provide an incomplete and ineffective backup."

"Backup and disaster recovery software is as important as antivirus and other security software," said marketing director Stephen Lawton. "If you lose your data just once, you'll realize that the value of a current image of your disk drive is measured in more than just the dollars and cents of lost business. Restoring a computer requires that you collect all of your software, registration codes, patches, updates, licenses and data, and then reconfigure your system and settings. This is a very time-consuming and labor-intensive job and can take days to complete. A simple file backup isn't enough to overcome the anxiety and wasted time reconfiguring a PC."

The suggested list price for the retail version of Acronis True Image 7.0 is $49.99. The product also is available as an electronic software download. The product is available now from the Acronis Web site and will be available in retail stores within days. It can be installed on any Windows-based desktop operating system, including Windows 95 / 98 / 98SE / ME / 2000 Workstation / XP. It also can be used to image non-Windows operating systems, including all versions of Linux, Novell Netware and more, by using the boot disk.
