The host of The Business of Tech podcast, Dave Sobel, interviewed the President of the ASCII Group Jerry Koutavas during the Acronis #CyberFit Miami Summit in October 2021 to discuss the challenges and opportunities MSPs face when it comes to cybersecurity insurance. When asked what is happening to MSPs on the insurance front, Koutavas comments, “It’s the wild west right now. Insurance carriers moved into this market but are now seeing there is too much risk. Now MSPs are looking at policies being canceled or huge rate increases, and this is something we will be dealing with for several years.”
Koutavas goes on to talk about how insurance carriers are creating a list of protocols for MSPs to follow and the fact the insurance companies cannot validate if these protocols are in place. He also discusses what the ASCII Group is doing to address these issues and what an MSP can do to get more information on this topic.
