The last day to get a free upgrade to Microsoft Windows 10 is this Friday, July 29. After that, the cheapest option will be to buy a full version of Windows 10 Home for $119.
There are still many people who are hesitant to upgrade to Windows 10, as the new version of Windows brings a completely different user experience. Some people are afraid to upgrade, expecting issues with the current programs they currently have installed and use on a daily basis. Now, it seems that they are being forced to make a choice – either upgrade now for free or take more time to think about it and pay for Windows 10 in the future.
The choice should not be that difficult. You can create a full image backup of your entire system, upgrade to Windows 10, and have the option to roll back to the previous version anytime if you encounter any issues. Or, you can keep your current Windows version on your PC and get Windows 10 when you buy your next new computer.
If you prefer the first option and plan to create an entire system backup, you may want to check out these video tutorials on how to use Acronis True Image to create a full image backup and how to restore from it.
Once you have made the move, your new Windows 10 powered machine will also need backup if you want to protect your applications and data from hardware failures, viruses, and malware. Acronis True Image works great on Windows 10, and has a wonderful touch-friendly UI that you will love if you have one of those fancy touch-screen devices.
Stay safe and don’t forget to backup - especially before you upgrade to Windows 10!
