The notorious Hive ransomware gang has hit several new high-value targets recently, including biopharmaceutical firm Supernus Pharmaceuticals and Germany's TH Nürnberg University.
Though Supernus Pharmaceuticals has reported no significant impact on its business, Hive reports through their leak site to have stolen 1.3 TB worth of data. The cybercrime group suggests that Supernus is hiding the attack due to their ongoing acquisition of Adamas Pharmaceuticals. No information is available about the ransom figure demanded.
TH Nürnberg University, three weeks after their attack, has largely restored their systems but certain services remain offline. It's unclear how much data was stolen, what ransom was set for their data, or if that ransom was paid.
Acronis Cyber Protect's Active Protection detects and blocks not only Hive ransomware, but all forms of malware based on the malicious behaviors they rely on — keeping your sensitive data private and secure.
