Experian Names Acronis True Image Server as the Primary Server Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution for Its UK Operations

Minimum downtime, fast ROI and controlling costs cited as key reasons for the installation

May 27, 2004, South San Francisco, CA — Experian® the global information solutions company, and Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, have announced that Experian has selected Acronis True Image Server 7.0 as its disk imaging, disaster recovery and backup solution for all of its United Kingdom operations. Financial terms of the agreement were not released.

Acronis True Image Server can create an exact image of live servers for a complete system backup without interrupting server operations and impacting system performance. It also supports incremental backups, scheduling, dynamic disks and image verification.

"Dividing a hard disk into separate partitions for the operating system, programs and data provides better organization and, more importantly, much greater data integrity in the event of a drive failure," Tsypliaev continued. "It also makes it possible to run more than one operating environment on your computer."

"An offline server costs us thousands of dollars per minute in downtime, and potentially a lot more," said Mel Mason, Managing Director of Technology Services at Experian. "That's why Experian required a backup and disaster recovery approach that would reduce a server downtime as much as possible and provide the best possible return on investment (ROI). We explored a number of products, and with its unique disk imaging backup technology, Acronis True Image Server provided the fastest bare-metal server recovery."

"Experian' choice confirms Acronis True Image Server's flexibility in large enterprises that require point-in-time server backups," said Max Tsypliaev, CEO of Acronis Inc. "Ensuring data availability and maintaining peak system performance were Experian's key requirements, and Acronis True Image Server has met their expectations."

In addition to backup and disaster recovery capabilities, Acronis True Image Server also allows Experian to clone server drives. This is invaluable when expanding a server farm quickly with the minimum of configuration time.

Experian began the rollout of Acronis earlier this year.
