Storage management software group Acronis has joined the IBM BladeCentre Alliance Program. According to the company, its enterprise-class Acronis True Image family supports IBM's Intel-based BladeCentre servers.

Acronis was certified recently as IBM ServerProven for its System x servers. According to the company, its True Image Enterprise Server software ensures the availability of data for IBM BladeCentre customers.

Acronis True Image Enterprise Server is a commercial disk-imaging disaster recovery and bare-metal restore software product that performs sector-based imaging as well as file and folder backup of entire servers.

It gives server administrators the ability to do a hardware-independent bare-metal restoration for disaster recovery in the event of a systems failure.
