for service providers

Data has become the world’s most valuable resource, and is at the core of everyday operations for nearly every business. Organizations and service providers are always looking for ways to improve the efficiency and reliability of their data centers — and to meet the shifting needs of their userbase with minimal expense.

Today, we’re announcing a significant update to Acronis Cyber Infrastructure that will introduce new capabilities and performance enhancements, improving manageability while strengthening the security and availability of business-critical data.

About Acronis Cyber Infrastructure

Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is an easy-to-use, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective hyper-converged infrastructure solution for cyber protection. Running on either commodity servers or Acronis Cyber Infrastructure appliances, it converts hardware into an easily-manageable pool of storage resources.

The solution provides file, block, and object storage, and supports multiple simultaneous use cases — including backup data storage and disaster recovery. Flexible licensing and scalability allow you to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and pay only for the resources you’re using. It’s perfect for organizations that want a cloud-like experience on-premises and for service providers that want to enable the provisioning of cloud services for their clients.

Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is optimized for Acronis Cyber Protection solutions, but can provide storage and protection for any workload. Choose from over 26 data centers around the world, ensuring a local presence and compliance with local or regional regulations around data storage and privacy.

What’s new in Acronis Cyber Infrastructure 4.5?

Designed to fit your clients’ business needs, the latest release of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is packed with new features that improve and extend its efficiency, manageability, performance, and security.

  • Improved erasure coding management: As the volume of backup data grows, your clients need an option to scale clusters efficiently without any downtime for the backup service. Clients can now change the erasure coding scheme online and store their data more efficiently, while you can monitor the redundancy schema change progress.
  • Enhanced cluster performance: Improve your clients’ productivity by detecting about-to-fail drives on time. Acronis Cyber Infrastructure now automatically detects all working drives whose performance has degraded to unacceptable values. This allows the cluster to avoid using degraded drives, and gives you a chance to replace them before the point of failure.
  • Extended security for infrastructure nodes: Protect your clients’ infrastructure against connections from untrusted devices and restrict access to internal services. Keep clients’ data safe by easily configuring inbound firewall rules to make sure that Acronis Cyber Infrastructure node interfaces are protected from connecting to devices outside of a specified IP address range.
  • Optimized memory utilization:  You can now optimize memory utilization and improve TCO with a memory overcommit feature that enables the provisioning of virtual machines with more RAM than the amount of physical RAM available on all compute nodes. This feature improves compute cluster efficiency for hybrid cloud disaster recovery.
