formerly Acronis Cyber Backup

The Acronis Disk Director suite of products quickly became one of our flagship solutions when it first launched 13 years ago. A significant amount of the deep technology that runs through all of our current data protection products originated from advances made to Disk Director.

Today, we launched a new version of our disk management and data manipulation solution: Acronis Disk Director 12 (ADD12). This new offering is targeted to prosumers (wedding photographers and freelance videographers, among others) and SMBs that are in need of a secure, simple and complete way to organize their hard drives and protect all of the data that’s so vital for the business. Powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine and developed largely by Acronis Labs — the company’s $10 million high-tech R&D center launched in 2013 — ADD12 ensures that users have the greatest confidence, flexibility and access to their data, no matter which operating system they use.

The prosumer and SMB markets are varied, and so is the data stored on these businesses hard drives. ADD12's expanded set of features and support ensures that prosumers and SMBs alike can easily and efficiently manage and secure their most important asset: data.

Key new features with ADD12 include:

  • Partition Management: To maximize disk use, users can merge, split, resize, copy and move partitions without losing data. Users can also quickly reorganize a hard drive's structure.
  • Acronis Recovery Expert: A highly reliable data partition and disk recovery tool that allows users to quickly tackle and repair the results of a personal error, hardware or software failure, virus attack or hacker intrusion.
  • Extended Windows Support – New!: Support for the latest versions of Windows (8 and 8.1), and earlier versions, including XP.
  • Comprehensive PC Support – New!: Support for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)-based computers, extending support beyond BIOS-based PCs and ensuring full functionality, regardless of PC type.
  • Improved Recovery Capabilities: Acronis Recovery Expert tool is included; in the event of a hardware or software failure, users can recover from a partition on the hard drive or create a disk to bring the system back.

Acronis Disk Director 12 is available now via the Acronis website
