New Acronis Backup and Security 2011 Safeguards Critical Data from Internal and External Threats

Single Solution provides Internet Security Combined with Trusted Backup and Recovery Capabilities

Woburn, Mass., February 22, 2011 Acronis, a leading provider of easy to use backup and recovery solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments, today launched Acronis® Backup and Security™ 2011, an updated solution to safeguard critical data and systems from both internal and external threats. This latest edition delivers the three elements of home computer protection - local backup, online backup, and Internet security.

Acronis Backup and Security 2011 provides comprehensive information protection that combines award-winning backup and recovery with Internet security, delivering a single alternative to existing point solutions. This combination of backup and security technologies allows users to back up systems locally for fast recovery of both data and their entire PC, protecting them against user error, disk failures and system failures, and to implement industry-leading firewall, anti-virus, parental controls and other security protections. Acronis Backup and Security 2011 also provides online backup - an additional layer of protection with remote location data protection in case of theft or physical disaster.

Licensed to protect up to three home computers for one year, Acronis Backup and Security 2011 includes several significant enhancements. Upgrades include: integration with Windows® 7 operating systems, a new user interface making configurations easier, and support for USB 3.0 standards.

Acronis Backup and Security 2011 allows home users to protect their PCs and those of their family members against data loss and security threats including the many viruses, spam, phishing and identity theft attacks prevalent on the Internet today. Users can securely bank, shop and surf the web, store music and images, keep personal information private, enable parental controls and block unauthorized access to their wireless networks by using Acronis Backup and Security 2011 software.

"By combining the three main elements of data protection into one product, we're offering our customers a single solution to meet all their information protection needs," Lisa Robinson Schoeller, director, product marketing, at Acronis. "Our user-friendly interface allows users to easily set up their backup requirements and the Internet security features automatically update staying current against the latest threats and viruses."

The Acronis backup and security product family includes two security packages to give users a choice of protection options.

  • Acronis Backup and Security 2011 offers local backup, and online data backup (5 GB available), along with full-featured Internet security. A one-year subscription costs $69.99.
