Team Project 1 Enters into Multi-year Partnership with Acronis

Team Project 1 today announced that Acrons, a global leader in cyber protection and hybrid cloud storage, has become partner in the team's FIA WEC project. The Swiss-Singaporean company will provide backup, storage, and disaster recovery solutions to improve data resiliency and create a more efficient and secured workflow for the team.

"The partnership with Acronis is a win-win situation. With their cloud-based system we will be able to have secure and fast data handling around the world - empowering our engineers' work as well as our performance on track," said Axel Funke, team principal of Team Project 1 in FIA WEC.

With this partnership, Team Project 1 joins a group of world-class motorsport teams that already rely on Acronis to protect their data.

"To know that teams like Williams and Racing Point in Formula 1, as well as NIO Formula E Team working with Acronis was an important reference for us. We are looking forward to being the first, that will use Acronis in the endurance world championship and share our experience, in order to help them extend the functionality of the product even further." said Richard Selwin, Technical Director of Team Project 1.

Competitive motorsports teams prefer Acronis because of the company's comprehensive, innovative approach. Utilizing cutting-edge artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain technologies, every Acronis solution addresses the Five Vectors of Cyber Protection - safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity, and security of data (SAPAS).

As a result, Team Project 1's data is fully protected from modern cyber threats while remaining easily accessible to team members.

"Acronis technology fits the high-paced environment of motorsport teams. We are pleased to join the Team Project 1 family, covering all aspects of cyber protection with the world's most innovative technology. We are proud to be associated with a WEC team and look forward to a long, successful partnership," said Dan Havens, Acronis Growth Officer.

The system is already used at the 1000 miles of Sebring, which is the first race of FIA WEC in 2019 and race 6 of FIA WEC Super Season.
