Industry veteran McChesney brings extensive marketing experience that will help Acronis grow awareness around the importance of cyber protection
Schaffhausen, Switzerland, 11 June, 2020 - Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, today announced the appointment of Steven McChesney as its Chief Marketing Officer. An industry veteran with more than 30 years of technology marketing experience, McChesney previously held leadership positions at F5 Networks, Druva, and Visio.
In his new role, McChesney will help Acronis continue building awareness around the importance of cyber protection, while focusing on the overall marketing strategy for the Swiss-Singaporean company. He is currently focused on accelerating the transition of Classic (on-premises) to Cloud business and the acquisition and enablement of service providers. McChesney is building on the success of Acronis Cyber Protect, the company's game-changing cyber protection solution that provides users with a unique, AI-enhanced integration of backup, anti-malware, and security management. This market-leading solution eliminates the security gaps that exist with patchwork, multi-vendor solutions and enables service providers and customers to manage and secure data though a unified management interface.
McChesney has extensive experience in the fields of technology marketing, sales, and business development, and most recently held the position of VP of Global Marketing for F5 Networks. Prior to that role, he held various positions at F5, Druva, and Visio. McChesney's tenure at Midisoft and Egghead Software, as well as his experience serving clients while at multiple agencies, brings valuable insights in driving demand at scale.
"Steven McChesney brings strong leadership skills and a wealth of experience to our company. In this role, he will help to extend our global leadership in cyber protection and bring Acronis' marketing to the next level," said Acronis Founder and CEO Serg Bell.
McChesney's expertise in traditional, digital, and partner marketing will dramatically improve company efficiency and will further accelerate Acronis' development as a world-leading marketing organization.
"I look forward to working closely with the Acronis team on the expansion of a new industry category - cyber protection. It's clear that traditional backup practices are no longer sufficient, making cyber protection necessary. As Acronis' Chief Marketing Officer, I plan to grow the industry's knowledge of this revolutionary approach," said McChesney.
