As the Acronis #CyberFit Summit at the company’s Schaffhausen headquarters came to a close, members of the leadership team took to the stage to officially announce that 2021 was the best year in the cyber protection company’s history, citing tremendous milestone achievements, personnel growth, and product updates.

Over the last three years, Acronis has evolved to become a leader in cyber protection – the first to combine cybersecurity, data protection and management into a single solution. But it’s the growing recognition by top analyst firms, like Canalys, a leading global technology market analyst firm with a distinct channel focus that strives to guide clients on the future of the technology industry. Acronis was recognized as a Grower in the Canalys Global.  “The Cybersecurity Leadership Matrix assessed vendor performance in the channel, based on worldwide channel feedback into the Vendor Benchmark over the last 12 months (July 2020 to June 2021), vendor feedback on channel program initiatives, and an independent analysis of each vendor” explained Matthew Ball, Chief Analyst, Cloud, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure at Canalys.

On-going growth from the cyber protection leader

Speaking to an audience of hundreds of Acronis service provider partners, MSPs, resellers, distributors, and hosting service providers, Acronis Chief Research Officer and Founder Serg (SB) Bell noted that this growth was possible in large part because of the expert team Acronis has assembled and clear foresight into the trends facing the industry today – be they edge computing, global localization, smart devices, machine intelligence, or increasingly fierce competition for IT talent.

In the past year this focus on the future of the cyber protection industry and connections with the best, most knowledgeable figures in the field – including the newly-named CEO, Patrick Pulvermueller – led to exciting advances in the organization’s product offerings, community growth, and more.

Acronis Cyber Protection Solutions

In 2021, Acronis rebranded its personal cyber protection solution Acronis True Image to Acronis True Image and modernized cybersecurity and backup with the comprehensive Acronis Cyber Protect and Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud services.

Acquisitions, integrations and datacenters

As part of this process, Acronis added new acquisitions – including Synapsys, CyberLynx, DeviceLock, and 5nine – and integrations to expand the capabilities of Acronis technologies. Through these expansions, and Acronis’ ongoing Global Local initiative, which this year grew to include more than 30 datacenters across the globe with plans for over 100 in the years ahead.

Partner community growth

Today 20,000 service providers are using Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud to protect 750,000 businesses around the world. Compared to 2020, that’s a 118% growth in workloads and a 32% growth in customers in Europe alone. More than 15 of these service provider partners have taken this relationship farther and joined the new Acronis #TeamUp Program supporting Acronis sports partnerships with a number of major teams in the Formula One, Formula E, European football, NFL, MLB and NBA.

Closing Acronis’ best year ever – and planning for even better in 2022

Rick Hebly, Acronis Director of Product Management gave attendees at the Acronis #CyberFit Summit in Schaffhausen a preview of how Acronis will advance and accelerate cyber protection in 2022. With partner interests at the forefront, Hebly covered how the Acronis Product Roadmap – which is full of new features, integrations and Advanced pack expansions – is designed to support Acronis partners as they scale their own businesses. In fact, Hebly reminded partners that “we will listen to your feedback – you are at the center of our prioritization.”
