FC Internazionale Milano today announced that it has teamed up with Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, in a multi-year partnership. Several members of Inter attended the formal partnership announcement at Acronis headquarters in Singapore on July 19, including team Captain Samir Handanovic, Tommaso Berni and Corporate Chief Executive Officer Alessandro Antonello.

Founded in 1908, the Italian club is a giant of European and world football, with a bulging trophy case that includes 18 Italian league titles, seven Coppa Italias, five Italian Super Cups, three UEFA Cups, two European Cups, one UEFA Champions League, two Intercontinental Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup.

The collaboration of these brands – both of which are leaders in their respective fields – represents the latest example of how data is driving world-class competition and the growing need to protect that data.

A new era for Inter

Inter’s new partnership with Acronis enables the club to be at the forefront of global sports franchises that are leveraging data to improve their performance on the field and in the business suite.

As part of the partnership, Inter gains access to Acronis’ full list of cyber protection services that safeguard all data, applications, and systems. With the team generating hundreds of petabytes of data, the enhanced protection, storage and file sharing capabilities will help Inter utilize that data more effectively.

"While Inter has a century-long history, it takes full advantage of modern innovations, specifically in cyber protection. Inter’s vision is similar to ours because they realize that data is the most valuable resource today and needs advanced protection. That’s where Acronis can lend a hand with our innovative cyber protection solutions," said Serg Bell, Founder and CEO of Acronis.

This new partnership is the latest agreement that brings to life Acronis’ vision of modern cyber protection.

The cyber protection revolution

Today’s data needs are constantly growing – from the amount of data generated to its different uses to the number of data sources and locations. The only way for an organization like Inter to fully manage and safeguard that data is to address all Five Vectors of Cyber Protection – ensuring the safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity, and security of data (SAPAS).

This comprehensive approach delivers services that are easy to use, efficient, and secure – as well as reliable and cost-effective – which is why teams at the highest level of world competition such as Inter choose Acronis.

Leading sports teams choose Acronis

With this new partnership, FC Internazionale Milano joins a burgeoning portfolio of high-profile sporting teams that have chosen Acronis as their technology partner.

In addition to fellow football clubs Manchester City FC and Arsenal FC, multiple motorsport teams rely on Acronis’ technology, including F1 teams SportPesa Racing Point and Williams Racing, Formula E teams Venturi, NIO and new champions DS TECHEETAH, as well as teams in IndyCar and NASCAR. The current baseball world champs, the legendary Boston Red Sox, recently selected Acronis as their Cyber Protection Partner as well.

“It’s great having an industry expert like Acronis as a partner, given their strong presence and expertise in data-driven sports," said FC Internazionale Milano Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello. "We have very high hopes that this technology partnership will help Inter advance even further, shape it to fit the modern high standards of international sports – and be better prepared for the future".
