On September 21, 2017, Acronis released the latest version of its easy, complete, and safe enterprise file access and sharing solution, Acronis Files Advanced 8.0. The new release is designed to increase user productivity and give IT pros complete control over business content, specifically the data that is shared and accessed remotely from employees’ mobile devices.
Acronis Files Advanced allows employees to securely access and share business data, avoiding the limitations of public cloud file sync and share services:
What’s new in Acronis Files Advanced 8.0?
Acronis Files Advanced 8.0 introduces new features designed to increase the security, compliance, and convenience of protecting shared data. It also provides greater flexibility when integrating with third-party mobile applications.
- Safe editing of sensitive documents with Microsoft Office Online. With built-in Microsoft Office Online web editing, there’s no need to download files to edit them. Documents stay where they belong. It provides increased security, compliance, and convenience to protect company resources, intellectual property, and customer information.
- Collaborative co-editing of documents. The new Microsoft Office Online editing capability allows multiple users to simultaneously co-author and edit shared files.
- Microsoft Intune Mobile Application Management (MAM) without Mobile Device Management (MDM) support. IT administrators can manage users, apps, and data with comprehensive security, granular policy controls, and greater visibility. Control document exchanges with mobile Microsoft Office apps and manage the Acronis Access iOS app using Intune MAM, even if you are using another vendor’s solution for device management.
- Extended flexibility when syncing and sharing folders. Nested folders can now be shared independently to different audiences; plus Sync and Share folders and their subfolder can now be desktop-synced at any level.
- Creation of ZIP archives in the Acronis Access iOS app. Users can now create ZIP files directly in the iOS app for sharing with others.
Acronis Files Advanced is a perfect solution for companies who value data and performance. Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 Team uses Acronis Files Advanced to share confidential telemetry data and R&D documents between the factory, trackside engineers, and subcontractors. “With Acronis Files Advanced, we’re in full control of our data. We can track the information path and even remote-wipe a laptop, tablet or mobile device if it is lost or stolen to prevent a competitor from accessing the data... The plan is to share sensible data that way,” said Raffaele Boschetti, Scuderia Toro Rosso Head of IT.
Acronis Files Advanced simplifies the management of shared data while meeting the strictest requirements for secure file sharing. It also removes the risks associated with using public file sync and share services, such as the inability to choose the data storage location or monitor user activities. It addresses the need of the modern businesses for secure file access, sync and share — something that has been validated by a 200 percent YoY growth in sales.
